Koolsun Swimwear Range for babies, toddlers and children

Koolsun swimwear is designed by parents for parents of babies and children. Koolsun uses polycotton and polyester for its swimwear designs. A full range of Koolsun products are available at The Kids Window and KoolSun

Polyester is a man-made fabric which results in a garment which is extremely light and comfortable to wear, with excellent quick drying and chlorine resistant properties.

Polycotton is a more natural fabric and feels more like the t-shirts that you put on your children. This is ideal for infant or sensitive skins, but takes a little longer to dry than polyester.

Both fabrics achieve the same Sun Protection Factor of 50+ and fit in the same way. Neither of the fabrics are hot to wear, and it is purely down to parental preference which fabric is chosen.

Polycotton is used in Koolsun’s baby wetties because it feels it is more pleasant for the infant if they are not put in totally synthetic fabrics.

Koolsun made a decision to stop using nylon lycra as it is thought to be too hot and clammy to wear.

Koolsun asks parents to make sure that they choose the correct size of swimwear for children - UV protective clothing should not be too lose fitting. Koolsun garments are designed to be snug and provide a second skin for the body. It is recommended parents measure children before ordering and don’t buy the next size up.

Koolsun makes all in one sunsuits for babies up to the age of two. After that age Koolsun recommends two piece UV protection swimsuits. Practically, it makes sense that after this age, children need to go to the toilet and find it easier to deal with shorts and a top.

If two piece suits are used below the age of two, parents have found that nappies get dragged down, builders bums appear and sandy bottoms are rife.

All Koolsun suits are machine washable on a 40 degree delicate cycle and carry full washing instructions.

Koolsun Sun Hats

Koolsun has found over the years that, although children were quite happy to wear their sun-hats in the water, as soon as they dived down to the bottom of the pool to fetch a hoop (or into the sea to catch a wave), the peak of their hat flipped up allowing the sun to reach their faces. Being children they never thought to put the brims back down again, so the sun hats became completely useless.

By using a neoprene brim that is flexible, the brim goes down into the water with the child and remains in situ when they surface again. This means you will not be constantly shouting at your child to put their hat brim down!

Aquashoes

Aquashoes can be washed on a 40 degree delicate cycle. Aquashoes come up fairly true to size. The infant sizes have an easy velcro fastening so is not necessary to order a larger size in order to get it on easily.

Koolsun recommends that you order the same size Aquashoe as your childs' current shoe size.

Koolsun UV Protection Swimwear two piece set

The Koolsun UV protection two piece set looks good in and out of the water in this stylish and functional polyester t-shirt and shorts set. The set comes in a variety of great colour combinations like classic navy and sky blue stripes, with plain navy shorts; pink stripes with glitter and pink shorts and denim blue and lime stripes with navy shorts.

The two piece swim suit is made from stretchy polyester that looks good and still provides maximum protection. The UV coverage is from elbow to knee, front and back but use sun protection cream on exposed areas. The Koolsun UV protection sun. Polycotton. Denim blue and lime stripes on navy. Slap on a Splash hat and go out to play! This legionnaire-style cap is made from UV rated polycotton and offers the same UV-protection as the protective clothing. With the snug fit and elasticated back they won't fly off when they leap in the sea or pool. They're designed to wear wet or dry, and will keep little heads cool when the sun's hot. They are a legionnaire's style hat with back flap that cover the back of the neck and ears, and a peak front for shade.
