Five years ago, baby sleeping bags were a little known form of bedding in the UK. Convinced of the inherent safety benefits and the related improvement in sleep for both child and parent, in 2000, Rob and Ouvrielle Holmes, working in close partnership with the Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths (FSID), introduced Grobag baby sleeping bags to the UK.

As a result of Grobag's continued work with FSID and dedication to safety, Grobag is now the only baby sleeping bags to be recommended by FSID, Grobag’s official partner in promoting safer sleeping for babies.

Grobag History

Grobag started in December 1996 when the founder’s son, Samuel was born. By the time he was seven months old, he was kicking off his covers every night and his parents were going bonkers with sleep deprivation. That was until an Austrian sister-in-law recommended a baby sleeping bag, which, as it turns out, was the norm for babies in many parts of Europe. After the first night in his sleeping bag, Sam slept for 12 hours and the family was hooked.

The name 'grobag' came about one bed-time when looking for Sam's baby sleeping bag, because when he woke up the following morning he was bright, breezy and very slightly bigger! The name stuck and the rest is history!

Grobag helps spread the 'safe sleep' message and helps fund research into ways to prevent cot death and reduce accidental injuries or fatalities.

The comfort and freedom of pyjamas proves invaluable as children get bigger, especially through potty training! The pyjamas are made from 100 per cent cotton and are machine washable at 40 degrees.

Grobag has come up with a simple and practical innovation to solve a common problem with the Grobag socksuit, a sleepsuit with socks for a perfect fit.
